A Jaunt with college friends long looked-for. :)

A get-together in the form of an outing with college friends after almost 7 years is definitely an achievement. Plans unless planned and executed properly will always end up as a flop show, nevertheless this time we were very sure of making it.

Few reasons below:
1.    Only 7 members :P ( 3 regular participants couldn’t make it L )
2.     All were sure shot enthusiasts
3.     Each one craving for a break from routine monotonous work life.

So here is the glimpse of our trip for those,
1.    Who couldn’t make it and would love to know the details
2.     Also for those who did make it and would love too to recall the details.

INITIAL HLD ( High level Design ):

I would pick Sri, Swathi and Vinu and reach Lali house.

Mr. Vinu made us wait for 15 minutes and Karthik arrived little late for relying on his Google maps. Lol. :P
Ended up starting at 7:30(IST). Coffee wasn’t arranged by Lali for her own “Reasons..” Irli irli….

Started our voyage in Mahindra Xylo with a Formula-1 driver. Yeah, this guy was a real rapid driver. Hardly were there times when he drove below 120 KMPH. Our entire journey was a roller coaster ride(Driver rather).
The moment we boarded in, Karthik and Swathi said, “ Hey aakali, thindham ra “(hungry, let’s eat). We stopped after 1 hour just as we came out of city limits. We had to walk across the barricade to reach hotel in service road. Looking at our ladies struggling to jump the barricade, security of the restaurant gave his chair for support. Thanks to him J
Ordered Masala dosa, Idly, bisibele bath Poori and coffee.

One funny incident here. Karthik ordered Bisibele bath. Server gave the same with mixture.

Karthik:“Swalpa Sambhar koDi”.
Server: “Hmmm Tagoli sir“.
Karthik: “Swalpa Curd koDi”.
Server: “iLLa sir”.
Karthik:  Pointing at the curd present in Curd vada “Allinda koDi”.
Server: “Sir adhu curd vada. koDok aagolla. Sweet iruthe”
Karthik: “Swalpa kodri“
Server gave a cold stare at him and finally gave curd in a small cup.
Ultimately Karthik sir didn’t finish the curd because it was SWEET :P
Started back.

One of the Highlights of the trip: I had bought my slam book which was written by college friends in the last semester.
It was real fun when Karthik read out all of them with his special effects and extra fittings. Fantastic to compare how people used to think 8 years ago and now what they are up to.
Had a nice time to recall all silly/funny/emotional/idiotic moments of college life.
Outcome of this session of reading Slam book was I got one more title ”Naughty or naati (as in naati koli) “

As we reached Sakaleshpura, Sri and Swathi developed puking signs. To add to this was the Ghats drive and unmaintained roads to resort. Never can we miss such a chance, tried our best to make sure they puke it out. Chanted mantras with Lemon, narrated how a mixer or grinder works in stomach, spoke only and only abnout Vomit, provoked, teased almost did everything but in vain. They somehow controlled and we reached the resort at around 12:30 PM

Weather wasn’t favoring as it was little hot. Got freshened and came to have lunch.
A Carom board was free. Thought of playing a couple of games. Vinu didn’t give any of us any chance to play as he was directing all the coins to pockets one after the other. He was playing as if he is contesting for international competition. We had to make him calm by saying, “Maga samadhana maadko, idhu just for fun.”
Indeed he plays really well. J
The only person who could give any fight to Vinu was Swathi. With no time she used to clear all the coins, although most of them used to fly out of board and land few meters away due to the enormous amount force she puts. :p :p Lol, the moment she gets the striker, she strikes, No target, no direction, nothing.” Banthu , Hodi, Magandhu yennaadru aagli”.

Lunch time, Food was good. Took rest for a while, then started our trek to a water falls near by. Clicking Photos on the way was fun, trek was cool as it was densely covered by trees.
Reached falls…. The water was so damn cold that we couldn’t stand there for more than a minute. But Swathi was standing with absolutely no effort. Donno how she managed. Then we too got some motivation from her and played well , posed well for photos( really well as Sri was directing with various stupid postures :P)

By the time we reached back resort, there was a small water game called Zip line. All my cunning friends told me to try first as I knew swimming and I agreed.
Sat on the Zip line and they released the rope. The moment I reached the pond, I had to stay quite there. But I tried to jump off it( as this bugger Karthik wished me to do so) and I  hurt myself on hands, head and leg.
Hmm. I jumped and swam to safe. But I didn’t tell anyone that I was hurt as I was afraid they wouldn’t try the game. I wanted them also to get hurt :P :P Uahahahaha.
Lalitha was the next. She tried, she was hurt too. I asked
“ Yene yet bitha”
Lali: “Hun kano. Bithu”
Me: “Sari yaargu heLbeda, heLudre, avru barolla “
Lali: “Ya ya sure kano :P ”

Then I guess it was Sri , Divya, Vinu, Swathi and Karthik in the row. As everyone came down, I and Lali used to asked “Yet bitha”. But unfortunately for us no one was hurt. Or may no one revealed although they got hurt. :P :P

Next comes the fascinating part.
THE HOLI ………………….

Resorts guys had arranged colors for us to play HOLI. Great thanks to them J
There were many groups and gangs in the resort playing Holi; but our batch wasn’t comfortable to mingle with them. So we played separately, nonetheless we had mammoth amount of fun.
At one stage we hardly could identify our own crew. Fully immersed in colors, Karthik was looking like a Peacock at one stage, I was resembling a character in AVATAR movie, Lali a ghost, etc.
Someone in the gang put color in Divya’s nose(Dviya claims it was me who put the color :P). So now one wicket down hurt injured as she silently sat in one corner.
She was struggling to breath. So I dropped her back in the tent and came back with a cup a coffee.
While I was walking down towards our holi gang again, they were staring at me like a stranger. Finally they could recognize me only with my colorful Goa shorts ( :P )
Idiot Karthik put colors in my coffee cup too :P
We played, posed for plenty of photos, finished all the colors and we were done.

After taking bath for really long time in an effort to remove the colors, we spent almost 2 hours. By now, Camp fire was up. Warmed ourselves well, people started dancing and screaming. But we didn’t join.
Played couple of rounds of badminton, Cards( Bluff, raja rani ) and had a nice dinner.

Now it’s time to sleep. It was a tent. A decent one. Started making all weird noises including snoring sound to irritate people.
Slept for few hours. Then got up for the Trek.

All geared with trek shoes, hat, goggles and full josh. I told how can we even start without a coffee. :P
Made everyone wait for almost 20 minutes until the coffee was served.
Vinu made the best use of this time to capture our profile pics.

Trek to Falls.:
Again, the josh we had was enough to keep us trekking without many breaks. A wonderful trek to the hill top.
Halted for a while in the pond or a small water outlet. Spent a nice time there and started towards the hill top.
Divya and Lali were out of strength by now. Motivated them to proceed and took them along. As we reached top of first hill, huge force of wind started pushing us. We turned back to see wonderful scene of mountains , dense trees covering us from a good height.
We decided to sit there and enjoy the view. We did the same for almost 30 minutes. It was a mind blowing scene with serene but windy environment.

As it was sunny by then, we trekked back to resort.
Had breakfast at 1:00 pm, took bath and packed our bags to the return journey.

Its again time for roller coaster ride in our Xylo. We were all damn sleepy. The moment we boarded in Car we thought of taking a nap but Sri had a different expression on her face. We got to know what it was only when she shouted, “Vomit Vomit…”
Halted the car , as she put omlet for almost 10 minutes.  Lali was there behind her to see the contents of vomit as she could explain us, “Chitranna banthu, Neeru banthu, juice banthu “ Lol and Yuck  too :P

At almost 5 PM, we halted in a dhaba after Hassan for lunch.
Full on batting here, Koli , Kuri, gobi, panner, biriyani, roti, lime soda, sprite.. J

Started back and reached Lali house by 9 PM.
And that marks the end of a wonderful get together in the form of trip J

Special thanks to Madhu( Lali’s Husband for booking the Xylo ) and all our fantastic friends for making a memorable trip happen.
Hope to see you all again soon in our next mission.
Cheers :)
